Luxury Automated Cinema Room, Chelmsford

Our Chelmsford Team have just put the finishing touches to this exceptional, premium dedicated Cinema room.

We were first approached by our client who just purchased a house that had a basement with a media room in inherited from the previous owner, but it was several years old and needed updating, unfortunately though for our client, just a few weeks after moving in his basement was flooded which changed everything. The silver lining was that the basement was stripped back to the brick and allowed the space to be completely revised and allowed us to design a dedicated 10 seat Cinema room. We worked with Artcoustic who helped create 3D renders of the room, so the client could see what his room would look like once it was completed. This Cinema room really is reference status, we designed the room for the best audio and picture quality and used the best brands to deliver on that brief. We used Artcoustic loudspeakers and their top-of-the-line Performance Sub 6 that has no less than 6 10” drivers port loaded to delivery ground shaking base. Electronics was from Arcam and used an AVR-850 Receiver with matching 4 Channel power amp to create a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos speaker system. For the projection we installed the Sony VPL-760 4K HDR Laser projector for the ultimate visual experience, projected onto a DT-Screens 150” (3.8M) wide cinemascope screen for a true cinematic experience. The advantage of this is that when watching films our client can press a button and the projector will zoom the image to fill the screen so he can enjoy movies as the director intended without the black bars.

We also supplied the cinema seating which is from Cineca and we used the Siena range finished in leather for the rear row and the Modena range finished in a beautiful Alcantara fabric with matching foot rests for the front row, both rows are fully electric with the Modena having 2 motors for separate head and foot reclining for the ultimate comfort. We also used rako controls for controlling the RGB LED lighting in the ceiling coffers and step lighting around the raised platform we also supplied and installed Starscape infinity fibre LED lighting panels to create that twinkling night sky effect which really creates a great atmosphere.

We also integrated a set of Lutron motorised curtains at the back of the room and Control4 was used as the control system for the Cinema and also the rest of the house which we extensively upgraded as part of the system providing automation control for the whole house, including heating, alarm, air-con, motorised blinds and curtains, electric gates, intercom and distributed audio and video throughout the house.
