The easy way to upgrade your Naim system
Cable Specialists The Chord Company have announced a brand new cable in the form of the ChordBurndy, specifically designed as an upgrade over the standard Naim Audio Burndy cable -something us Naim users have been waiting for!! This allows an easy upgrade to squeeze the full performance out of your Naim system
The Chord Company ChordBurndy cables are available in custom lengths and a wide variety of configurations depending on your Naim system with prices starting from £1600Every cable is handmade to order and uses the optimum signal/shielding system, comprising silver-plated copper conductors, Chord’s flagship Taylon® proprietary insulation, an acoustic braid, plus an anti-EMF braid, all protected by a black nylon outer jacket. In experimenting with various combinations, Chord found conductor gauge and shielding upgrades gave the biggest improvements. eg. for the Naim 500 series models they have increased the copper gauge to the maximum that the larger pins will allow. Depending on your equipment combination there can be between seven and nineteen internal cables. The ChordBurndy can be a time and resource-heavy build, but the leap in performance is pretty fundamental and therefore, we feel, justifiable. The different custom-built Burndys come in at different price levels depending on complexity and the number of wires needed.
Single cable variants: 555 (no.2) 7 pin, 555 (no.1) 10 pin, SXPS 11 pin, CDS power Burndy 13 pin, NAC252 15 pin, Nac 52 Pre 16 pin, Snaxo/S-Line 17 pin, 552 19 pin
Cable pair variants: NAP 300 7 pin, NAP 500 9pin
Call us on 01245265245 or email us @ email@example.com for more information on pricing and options for your Naim system

Our Stores re-open Monday 15th June…with a few necessary changes
We’re very pleased to be able to say our stores will reopen this coming Monday, 15th of June.
Now obviously you’ll appreciate that things will need to be done slightly differently, but this is so we can keep everyone safe.
We will have revised opening hours from 9am to 5pm at the Chelmsford & Southend Stores and 9.30am-5.30pm at Rayleigh to allow time to wipe down & prepare the stores for the following day
The Chelmsford store will now be closing on Mondays (commencing Monday 22 June)
The Southend Store will now close all day on Wednesdays (commencing June 17th)
The Rayleigh Store will continue to be closed on Wednesdays as before
This will be subject to review in the future as we see how things progress
We will be operating a locked door policy, allowing only one customer (+ Partner) in store at a time due to the limited space in our shops. This will enable us to protect staff and customers alike within our shop environment.
You will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided upon entry, and the two-metre distancing rules will need to be adhered to.
We will continue to offer demonstrations on an appointment basis to ensure everything is set up and sanitised for you before your arrival.
We can achieve the social distancing rules within the demonstration room, however, if you prefer you can have sole use of the room, whilst listening to your chosen equipment. We would ask you telephone us to make an appointment if you require a demonstration
Should you require a home or site visit from one of our engineers, we will, of course, try to accommodate your needs whilst ensuring that our staff and yourselves are protected. We will email a list of Covid 19 compliant installation guidelines before we visit that we will ask you to adhere to.
We thank you for your patience and understanding in these difficult times.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Southend based Hi Fi specialists Rega have just unveiled the new look Aria MK3 Phono Stage, which has been given a cosmetic make-over to match the new current look of the product range.
The Aria MK3 is an “all analogue amplifier” with no digital control circuitry. The fully aluminium case screens the internal circuit from any stray RFI signals. Rega’s designers have avoided including any superfluous gadgets as they obstruct the signal path and degrade the sound quality. The Aria incorporates many innovative design ideas including a self-adjusting servo control to keep the MC input circuit at its optimum, compensating for any variations in ambient or operating temperature.
Both stages have their own separate input sockets and input pre-amplifier circuitry. This enabled us to design bespoke input circuitry for each cartridge type without compromise. Signal switching is performed at high level and low impedance (via relays) ensuring there is no degradation of the signal.
MC Stage Design & Features
The MC input uses parallel connected, low noise FET’s (Field Effect Transistor’s) configured as a compound pair. The use of FET transistors ensures there is no bias current flowing in the cartridge coil so as not to upset the delicate magnetic geometry of the cartridge. The MC input has the provision for selecting resistive input loading of 70ohms to 400ohms and capacitive loading of 1000pF to 4200pF. The input sensitivity can be changed by 6dB via the back panel.
MM Stage design & features
The MM input uses low noise, bipolar input transistors also configured as a compound pair. There are two separate power supplies for each channel and further sub-power supplies for each of the low noise input circuits. Nichicon FG electrolytic capacitors have been used in critical positions throughout the power supplies. Polypropylene capacitors have been used in the signal path and equalization networks. Discrete circuitry is used throughout the signal path ensuring full control of the circuit design.
Available to order now, The Aria Mk3 will be shipping in late June and is priced at £899.
