SA SA SA…The New Arcam Hi Fi Range is with us…

Our Southend Store and Chelmsford Stores have been happily unboxing and running in the brand new Arcam Stereo amplifiers this week. The first to hit the shelves are the replacements for the highly successful A19 & A29 models, the new SA10 (£699) and the SA20 (£999) along with a matching SACD/CD Player/Network Streamer, the CDS50 (available shortly @ £699). We had a play with these a couple of weeks ago and Arcam have tweaked the voicing of the previous range slightly with the new amps definitely sounding a little punchier with enhanced dynamics.

SA10

The SA10 amplifier is an ultra-low distortion type Class A/B amplifier similar to the A19. The SA10 has 5x analogue inputs (1x line/MM switchable) and 3x digital inputs (2x SPDIF and 1x optical).

The ESS Sabre 9016 DAC is built into this amplifier for optimum low jitter digital performance. The SA10 is 50wpc into 8 ohms (both channels driven). The SA10 also comes with a brand new learning backlit infra-red handset and can be now controlled over IP by ARCAM’s IOS app, Musiclife or by RS232.

SA20

Building on the performance level of the A29, The SA20 integrated amplifier uses Arcam’s proprietary Class G technology.

The SA20 is rated at 80wpc into 8 ohms (both channels driven). It delivers just under 20wpc in pure Class A, while allowing for huge extra power reserves for the most demanding of loudspeakers.

This groundbreaking amplifier is an absolute must for those seeking true excellence in an amplifier at an incredibly affordable price. As with the SA10 this amplifier has 5x analogue inputs (1x line/MM switchable) but the 3x digital inputs (2x SPDIF and 1x optical) are supplied by the ESS Sabre 9038 reference DAC (as employed in the irDAC2).

The SA20 also comes with a brand new learning backlit infra-red handset and can be controlled over IP by ARCAM’s IOS app, Musiclife or by RS232. This amplifier is the direct replacement to the A29.

CDS50 

This player once again raises the performance bar and is undoubtedly ARCAM’s finest audio disc spinner to date! The boldness of that statement is backed up in part with the employment of the ESS Sabre 9038 reference DAC technology as well as a high precision re-clocking system and a specially designed power supply.

The player has single-ended and balanced outputs and also comes with a brand new learning backlit infra-red handset. The product can be controlled over IP and can be controlled by ARCAM’s IOS app, Musiclife or by RS232 control. The CDS50 also has 2x DAC inputs, 1x optical and 1x SPDIF for even greater flexibility!

This player is the direct replacement to the CDS27
