9.4.4 Dolby Atmos Cinema System

The client loved the two cinema rooms we designed at their previous homes, so they returned for another at their new property.

To fulfill a client’s request for a home cinema room,  careful planning was taken in designing the system; drawings were drawn up for the builder/electrician to build a bespoke wooden frame to hide the speakers and to mount the projector screen. Two rows of  Frontrow electric reclining seats were specified as the client wanted a full cinema experience. A raised plinth was built for the seating area to ensure everyone would have the best viewing experience.

The client did not want to see any equipment in the cinema room itself so cables were installed running back to an equipment rack sited in an adjacent room.

Cinema System Equipment

As it was a dedicated Cinema room, a stunning Cinema Build System 10ft fixed anamorphic audio transparent screen was chosen for its excellent picture quality. In addition, a 4k Sony 4K UHD Laser projector was specified, resulting in amazing life-like images.

A Denon AVC X6800 AV Receiver in combination with a  multi-channel Power Amp, was chosen to drive the Full 9.4.4 (17 speaker) Dolby Atmos system. A Sony 4k Blu-Ray player was selected to complete the Home Cinema electronics system to deliver a superb cinema-quality sound and video performance.

Control & Lighting

A Control4 Smart Home automation system with Rako lighting was used for complete control and ease of use.  Once completed, the client only has to select from the ‘watch’ list of sources and the system then turns on all the necessary components – the projector turns on and the lights slowly fade down.  The system is VERY intuitive and easy to navigate.

This is a truly amazing Private Atmos Cinema Room that both looks stunning and sounds amazing.
