We are happy to announce a new bespoke product offering with our recently completed demonstration media wall at our Chelmsford store. Our in-house installation team worked hard to transform the old display area into a fresh, modern and sleek solution which can be tailored to suit a variety of rooms and equipment.

The installation started with the dismantling of our old demonstration area and preparation of the wall to receive our fabric tracking frame. The plastic tracking comes in 2.4m lengths which is cut down on site with a specialist saw to achieve accurate angles. The 3x PMC speakers were measured and the plasterboard removed so that they could recess into the void behind and cables run from the lower cutout to behind where the TV would be positioned. Around the frame was painted black which helps later on to achieve a quality finish.

The next step was to apply the sound treatment panels and track the chosen fabric into the framing, a fairly quick process only taking a few hours but does require an eye for detail and patience to achieve a great final result. The fabric can easily be replaced at any point in the future to change the colour or when re-decorating the room.

The wood panelling was the next stage. We selected the walnut effect to match with the dark cinematic feel that we aimed for with this area. We broke up the wood with more of the acoustic squares which are designed to be used behind or on wall to show customers a ‘behind the scenes’ of the treatment involved behind the fabric.

The final stage of installation was to mount the TV and terminate all the cables, ready to be plugged into all the electronics. We used a Spectral cabinet to house the amplifier and subwoofer because of its fantastic quality and German engineering.

Like all our installations, we took time to setup the equipment for its surroundings; measuring the speaker distances and tweaking to audio for optimal performance along with setting up the TV’s picture settings, ARC and audio options.

65” Sony OLED – XR-65A80L

We picked the new Sony OLED TV because of its brilliant 4K image quality, HDR compatibility, reliable audio return channel (ARC) and fantastic Google TV / Android 10 operating system. The similarly priced LG OLED65G36LA or OLED65C36LC are also great alternatives with equally good features.

PMC Ci65

A fairly new line to us, the PMC were an easy choice to show off this new option. Perfect for in-wall uses, they have a great build quality and realistic sound production thanks to their ATL. They are also installer friendly with Quickfire Technology and optional Pre Mount Kit.
